Formal gardens, natural sanctuaries, impressive sculpture and the former manor house of Robert Henry Allerton make up this tranquil, exquisite park. Allerton’s private estate, known as “The Farms,” was donated to the University of Illinois in 1946, and Allerton House, built in 1900, was turned into a conference center at the time of the donation. Fu Dog Garden, French sculptor Bourdelle’s The Death of the Last Centaur and Carl Milles’ The Sun Singer statue are among the park’s finest attractions.

Krannert Center for the Performing Arts
Not only one of the Midwest’s premier theatrical destinations, Krannert Center is also one of the nation’s top educational and research centers for the performing arts. An astonishing array of some of the world’s most accomplished artists have performed at Krannert Center, including the Mark Morris Dance Group, Meredith Monk, the Moscow Festival Ballet, James Galway, Cassandra Wilson, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Paul Taylor Dance Company and The National Theatre of the Deaf. Krannert Art Museum and Kinkead Pavilion
